Little Barbs Academy offered to help new kindergarteners have a successful start to school
Is your child starting kindergarten this fall? Give them a head start with the new Little Barbs Academy! Our dedicated teachers will help students build essential school-ready skills and become familiar with school buildings and daily routines. We believe this will make their kindergarten experience even more successful.
As a pilot program, the Little Barbs Academy will be offered this year to students who will attend Malta, Brooks, Littlejohn, Cortland, or the new Dr. Leroy A. Mitchell Elementary School. Specifically aimed at students who have not had a structured learning environment or primarily been in home care prior to the start of kindergarten, the Little Barbs Academy will be offered Monday, August 4 - Friday, August 8, from 9 - 11 a.m. The program is free to attend, and students must be registered to attend one of the participating schools.
If you are interested in having your child participate in the Little Barb Academy, please complete an Interest Form by July 15. Parents/guardians will be responsible for drop-off and pick-up at their child's school.
