2024-25 CEP eligibility for all enrolled students

D428 is participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Program called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for the 2024/2025 school year. This means that ALL enrolled students in grades K-12 are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge to your household each operating day of the 2024/2025 school year.

**Please note that the CEP program is independent of free and reduced price eligibility of student fees, which must still be applied for each year.

Free and Reduced Program

Your child may be eligible for free or reduced-price status.

Children from households that receive Food Stamps or TANF benefits are eligible for free status. Children from households that meet Federal Income Guidelines are determined eligible for either free or reduced-priced status. This does not apply to our Food Service Program. All students are eligible to receive one free breakfast meal & one free lunch meal daily.

To apply for free or reduced priced discounts, use the Household Eligibility application. One application per household is all that needs to be filled out and sent in to:

DeKalb CUSD Education Center
901 S 4th Street, DeKalb, IL 60115

A new or revised application can be submitted at any time during the school year. If you are not eligible now but have a decrease in household income, an increase in household size, or become unemployed, you can fill out an application at that time.

It is important to remember that the Free and Reduced fee waiver applications must be filled out every year, unless you receive a letter that your child has already been approved for the current year. If you do not receive a letter for each child in your household, please contact Food Service at (815) 754 - 2162. Use one application for all of the students in your household. All information is confidential.

Applications are available at any school office and at the District's Food Service Office located at 901 S. 4th Street, or by clicking on the links below. Spanish applications and information are also available.
